West 28th Street, Flower District

Grow more in the space you actually have

Raised beds, fabric grow bags and planters sized for roofs, balconies and back yards — the containers that make a small footprint produce something.

Choose the container first

Bed, bag or pot — the rest of the decision follows from it.

The counter

Part of the Flower District

Jamali Floral and Garden trades on West 28th Street, in what is left of Manhattan flower market. The garden side of the business is containers — galvanized raised beds, fabric grow bags and planters — bought mostly by people growing on roofs and fire escapes.

Sized for city growing

Roof, balcony and back yard footprints rather than acreage.

Drainage on every pot

Where a planter ships with holes and a saucer, the listing says so.

Before you fill a bed

How much soil does a raised bed take?
It depends on the footprint and height, both of which are on each listing. As a rough guide a seventeen inch tall bed takes far more than people expect — measure the volume before ordering soil.
Do fabric grow bags last more than one season?
The thickened non-woven bags we stock are made to be emptied, folded and reused. The listing states the fabric weight where the maker publishes it.
Do planters come with drainage holes?
Most do, and several ship with a matching saucer. The specification table on each product page states it rather than leaving you to guess.
